A Bridge 4 Change was founded at the intersection of professional experience and personal purpose. For more than 20 years, I have served as an educator in underserved communities, working with young people facing systemic barriers, instability, and limited access to consistent mentorship and leadership development opportunities. Throughout my career, I have witnessed firsthand the transformative impact that supportive relationships, structured accountability, and access to resources can have on a young woman’s confidence, resilience, and long-term success. I also hold a post-graduate certification in Nonprofit Management from Texas A&M University, which has further strengthened my ability to design and lead programs that are both mission-driven and operationally effective.
Through my work with students and families, a consistent gap became clear—young women with immense potential often lacked stable guidance, leadership development, and safe, supportive environments to grow and thrive. Many were navigating trauma, foster care involvement, housing instability, and community challenges without the consistent support systems necessary to reach their full potential. A Bridge 4 Change was intentionally created to address these gaps by serving as a bridge between potential and opportunity.
My commitment to this work is also deeply personal. Volunteering alongside my daughter and witnessing her passion for service and community engagement revealed the powerful impact of mentorship across generations. Her experiences serving others not only strengthened her character but also inspired her to pursue a college degree in Public Health, with a focus on improving outcomes for vulnerable populations. Her journey affirmed my belief that early exposure to service, leadership, and accountability cultivates lifelong advocates for change.
At its core, A Bridge 4 Change is grounded in the belief that young women deserve consistent support, trauma-informed care, and meaningful opportunities to lead with confidence and integrity. Through mentorship, leadership development, life skills training, and strategic community partnerships, AB4C empowers young women—particularly those in foster care and transitional housing—to recognize their value, build resilience, and commit to long-term personal and professional success.
A Bridge 4 Change is more than a nonprofit organization—it is a reflection of lived experience, generational service, and an unwavering commitment to empowering young women to become leaders who strengthen families, uplift communities, and shape a better future.
